I am a mindful art maker, but I haven't always been. I suffered from debilitating stress from a young age. I remember my doctor asking my mom if she could pay me to do some cross stitch or something so I would relax, and my mom told her, "Please don't, that will stress her out more."

Of all the things I've tried to reduce my stress, the easiest, most accessible method I've learned is a combination of art and meditation. It's inexpensive, portable, and if you can write your name, you can do it. Some of the benefits my students and I get are:
